Review: Urban Decay Naked Smoky

Hi loves! The past month and a half I have been using only Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette (12 x 1.3 g, 51.95 EUR). You can say I have been bit obsessed, actually a lot ;)

The packaging of the palette is absolutely beautiful and fits the name perfectly! Inside it has double ended eye shadow brush, mirror and 12 eye shadows. I love there are selection of sparkly shadows to mattes and everything between.

The quality of the shadows is amazing, which was expected from Urban Decay. I didn't think I could find so many ways to use this palette, but I have. I have created day time looks and smoky evening looks and everything between. I find its very dicers palette.

These eye shadows feel so soft to the touch and the pigmentation is just amazing! These do blend out beautifully, but not like Maybelline shadows from their new palettes where the color loses all its sparkle and vividness. The shadows from the Naked palette come together and just look one, but still have their own individuality to them. I cant say enough good thing about the formula of these. Like I said before I'm obsessed and now I'm thinking of getting all the naked palettes :D

On the picture above you can see the left half of the palette, the first shade is High, which is described as champagne shimmer with micro glitter. Next to it is Durtysweet, which is beautiful bronze shade, every palette should contain a shade like that ;) Then we have Radar and its metallic taupe with iridescent micro glitter in it. After that is Armor, which is metallic silver taupe with sparkle to it. Slanted is a light metallic gray, which is absolutely beautiful! Next is Dagger, which medium charcoal with shimmer to it.

My favorite shades from this half of the palette are  High, Durtysweet and Slanted.

The other half of the palette is not as exciting as the first half. It contains more basic shades in my oppinion. The first is Black Market, which is a black satin. Then we have Smolder and its deep plum taupe. Password is cool matte taupe and perfect to use in the crease.  Whisky is matte brown and one of the most used shadows from the palette. I like to wear it in the crease ;) Combust is another matte and its a nude shade, which is the reason it didn't show up on the swatch very well. The last shadow in the palette is Thirteen and its light beige with satin finish.

If you are in Europe you can order this palette from here (Sephora France) and if you are in US you can find it here (Sephora US, also delivers to Netherlands).

Which is your most used palette at the moment?

Thanks for reading! xo's

  1. I usually gravitate towards neutral colors, but this palette looks really nice for a bolder look!

    1. It works for nude looks as well, because it has some basic shades. I'm so surprised how many ways I have been using it x

  2. I love Urban Decay but I haven't tried any of the Naked palettes yet. The shades look lovely though! Another addition to my wishlist I guess.

  3. I love my Urban Decay palettes. I bought this one at the same time I got my Morphe one though so I haven't used it much! May dig it out and give it a fair try tomorrow!

  4. I have this and unfortunately I am not a huge fan of it. I find the pigmentation is pretty poor and the texture is drier than the original Naked palette. My husband bought it for me when it launched and I think I've reached for it only 5-6 times until today. :-/

    1. Its my only naked palette, so I cant compare it to other palettes from the range x
