Review: Essence Camouflage 2 in 1 Make-Up & Concealer and 2 in 1 Powder & Make-Up

Hi loves! Istanbul has kicked my ass, thats why I haven't posted. I walked so much and I feel there is even more to see. My feet hurt so much after two full days of walking and yesterday I took a flight to south. But today I'm rested and back writing reviews ;) I'm also planing a new giveaway, because I hit 500 000 views :D If you have any great ideas leave them down below!

Lets continue with today's post, which is on Essence Camouflage 2 in 1 Make-up & Concealer in shade 20 Nude Beige (30ml) and 2 in 1 Powder & Make-Up in shade 10 Ivory Beige (9g). I picked up both in my local drugstore Kruidvat.

  • Essence Camouflage 2 in 1 Make-up & Concealer in shade 20 Nude Beige (30ml) gives a full coverage and has matte finish. Its a liquid foundation, which combines the best of foundation and concealer. I think it gives me as good coverage as my Estee Lauder Double wear, but the staying in power is not as long though. There is not too many shades available, but there is one lighter then the one I have. The time I picked it up I had a bit of tan going on, so it is slightly darker then my skin now, but when blended in and everything is bronzed up, its not noticeable. I have noticed with this foundation I do get oily more then others. I don't know why, because its long wear foundation. I definetly need to blot my face and powder through out the day, if I don't do it the foundation gets caky on my forehead and on my nose. It seems it would work better for someone who doesn't have oily skin like me. The foundation itself feels comfortable and light weight on skin and hasn't irritated or caused me any brake outs.

  • Essence Camouflage 2 in 1 Powder & Make-Up in shade 10 Ivory Beige (9g) is silky powder, which gives matte finish to the complexion and has high coverage. I like to use it all over the face, but I don't use it around my nose (there I use loose powder), because it can get cakey. On its own it gives a good coverage as well. Sometimes when I don't have much time I use concealer and this powder and I get even complexion, which looks natural. I do need to reapply it through out the day, because I get super oily. I don't know what it is whit these two products, but they make my skin more oily then other products. The first ingredient in the list is talc, which doesn't sound so good. I know talc can cause brake outs, if you have sensitive skin. It hasn't happened to me, but the idea I'm putting just talc on my face doesn't seem too appealing.

I like the coverage I get with these products, but I'm not overly happy about the ingredients list and also how oily these make me. I had high hopes for this duo, because in the past I have found great gems from the brand. Its my first time to try their foundation and I think I'll have a brake for sometime and maybe in the future I'll try something again. But for now I'll stick to my highend foundations.

Have you tried any of their foundations before?

Thank you for reading! xo's

  1. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on these. I haven't tried any essence foundations or powders but I have tried other products. I would love to try more. I prefer mattifying makeup so I probably wouldn't love the foundation either.

  2. I'm sure with all the walking you had a wonderful time site seeing in Turkey; I've always wanted to go! Also, congrats on hitting 500k views, girl, that's awesome! As for your reviews, I appreciate your honesty, it doesn't seem as though that first foundation would suit my skin type at all because it's very oily. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a wonderful day!

  4. It is a shame that this foundation doesn't have a long staying power. I have a combination skin so I don't think it would suit me.

  5. What a shame. I like essence as a brand but their concealers and foundations disappoint me every time. Maybe it's because I have very oily skin :(

  6. Too bad that the product didn't work out for you! I used to love most of the essence products until I realized how many nasty chemicals that they're packed with. To be honest though I've never tried an Essence Foundation, thankfully!

Thank you for sharing your honest thoughts :)

  7. I have tried a few powder things from essence that were okay. The limited shade range made me stay away from their foundation though.
