Review: Skin Chemists Advanced Brightening Collection

Hi loves, today I have skincare review for you. Skin Chemists was kind enough to send me their Advanced Brightening Micellar Water (250ml), Toner (250ml) and a Lotion (250ml). I do want to mention before we go in to the review I have oily skin type and my skin already is in very good condition. I have been using these products a month now. My thoughts on the products are 100% on my own.

The products come in similar bottles and the difference is in the label. Goes from darkest blue to the lightest. It would be the order the products are used: Micellar Water, Toner and the last step would be the Lotion. I would also apply essence and a serum and then go in with the lotion. All 3 products contain 250 ml of product, which makes it great value. Their Advanced Brightening range is packed with great ingredients to make the skin brighter and looking the best it can.

The Advanced Brightening Micellar Water is so gentle and it doesn't irritate my delicate eye area. It contains Vitamin B6 and C, which help to brighten the skin. I like to use it in the mornings to cleanse my skin or take off any makeup left behind from the cleansing balm. I wear heavy makeup and the cleansing balm is the easiest way to melt it off. If there is anything left behind I use this Micellar Water to remove it and it does amazing job. Most this type of products really irritate my skin.

Active ingredients:
  • Whitonyl - helps to brighten the skin by controlling the photoinduced pigmentation. It helps to attenuated pigmentation spots.
  • Allantoin - is acting as skin protectant and provides moisture. Also has soothing and anti-irritating properties.
  • Crodarom Water Mint - is a plant extract, which provides stimulant, radical scavenging. Also provides moisturizing effect for cosmetic application
  • Summer Damask Rose Water - helps to maintain skin natural moisture, regulates pH balance, tones and softens the epidermis. Also has skin whitening effect.

I'm very happy with this product. It does a great job removing imperfections and gets the makeup off my skin. I like how gentle the formula is. My eye area loves this product!

The Advanced Brightening Toner is one of my favorite toners at the moment. I love the formula so much and it feels amazing on the skin. Their toner contains pioneering skin brightening formula that helps to make the skin feel smoother, brighter and more even looking. It also helps to balance, hydrate and leaves the skin feeling nourished. It reduce the look of redness and  also balances the pH.

The formula of the toner is bit thicker and looks like very watery gel. It reminds me the Klairs  toner (review), which I also really like. The Skin Chemists toner is scented, but it hasn't irritated my skin in any way. The scent is not over powdering either. I use it every morning and evening. I use cotton round to apply it and it makes my skin feel hydrated and it's also cooling. I love how it feels on my skin, like the product caresses the skin.

Down below you can see the cap of the Toner and the Micellar Water has exactly the same cap. On the left you can see a swatch of the Toner. You can see how much thicker it is then other toner.

Active Ingredients:
  • Vitamin B5 - helps to hydrate and deeply moisturize the skin within.
  • Niacinamide - helps to maintain skins elasticity as well as maintaining water permeability barrier of the skin. Also has anti-inflammatory activity, which is essential for anti acne care.
  • Sweet Almond Oil - is rich with fatty acids and contains vitamin A, B1, B2 and B6. It's great ingredient to condition the skin, because of its penetrating, smoothing, softening and moisturizing properties.
  • Vitamin C - is one of my favorite ingredients in skincare product. It helps to fight against free radicals and helps to reduce skin roughness and inflammation.

I'm so happy with this Toner. It hydrates my skin and brings comfort to it. I can see myself picking it up once this one is over. I just love the formula.

The last item in this range is the Advanced Brightening Lotion, which is great, if you like something light weight. I comes in a same kind of bottle as the other two products, but it has a pump, which I really like. It's formulated with Vitamin B3, Vitamin C and Vitamin B4. It feels light weight and I have been using it in morning and evening. It's very moisturizing and I usually use something thicker in the evenings, but I feel with this cream I don't need to. It's so effective!

Active ingredients:
  • Vitamin C - is a great anti aging ingredient and it provides sunlight protection (still wear SPF, always). It helps against free radicals and reduces skin roughness and inflammation.
  • Poreaway - helps to reduce the look of pores, fights shininess, blemishes and clogged pores. It helps to keep the skin clear and refined.
  • Niacinamide - helps to maintain the skin's elasticity as wells as maintaining the water permeability barrier of the skin. Also has with anti inflammatory properties, which is essential for anti acne care.

Now you guys know how my skin has been looking so flawless. The Toner and the Lotion are wins for me. I can see myself buying both products when I run out. The Lotion has made my pores look smaller and overall my complexion looks so much brighter and healthier. I haven't got any brake outs not even when I get my period, when I usually do get brake outs. This trio is a win in my eyes.

Review: Super Shock Pressed Pigmented

Hi loves, today I'm happy to share with you guys some new Colourpop goodies in my collection. These are not the newest, but they are new to me. I have 4 of their Super Shock Pressed Pigments and I have shades Erotic, Kelp Me, Fantasy and Glowstick (2.1g, $6.00). These feel as bouncy as they regular Super Shock Shadows and come in the same packaging, little jars with clear caps with the brands logo on the top. I love how easy it is to store these and I'm always able to see the shades I have.

These are beautiful and fun colors and they are glittery, which I like, perfect to fight off the winter or autumn blues. The color pay of is great and these work well together with powder shadows. I like to apply these with my finger tip. It's the easiest way to get the best result. With a brush I feel the color payoff is not as vibrant.

Let's take a look of the pigments closer and also the swatches. Their pigments and shadows in this formula look so beautiful and reflective.

  • Glowstick - is an electric neon yellow with glittery finish.
  • Kelp Me - is a bright melon with pink duo chrome finish.
  • Erotic - is a neon candy apple red with sparkling pink and copper glitter.
  • Fantasy - is an electric neon red violet topped with a multi dimensional glitter.

I have been using these shadows always with eyeshadow primer, which I use under all my eye looks. These didn't fade or crease on me through out the day, which is great. I don't have oily lids, that might be a factor as well.

I'm so happy with these new shades in my collection. Their super shock formula is one of my favorites and I'm happy to have these beauties in my collection. If you are interested in their Super Shock Shadows and Pigments you'll find them here.

Review: Lethal Cosmetics Skyward + Landfall Collections

Hi loves, today's review is on new collections from Lethal Cosmetic. They came out with the Skyward and the Landfall Collection and you can see both on the left. The Skyward collection contains the greens and blue shades, and the Landfall collection has the nudes, pinky and a purple shades. There is all together 3 shimmery metallics and 9 matte shades, which I'm really happy about. Matte eyeshadows are my favorite to use. The Lethal Cosmetics matte eyeshadow formula is one of the bests I have tried in my blogging career.

The eyeshadows of both collections are super pigmented and easy to work with. I didn't have any issues blending these shadows out and these work well together with other powder shadows from my collection. I also like the formula of their eyeshadows is vegan and the brand is cruelty free.

Lately I have been more into single eyeshadows and I love these are all singles and I can put them which ever way I want. Also on the webpage you can build your own palette and that way the shadows are cheaper, which I like. The palette that came with the eyeshadows is cardboard, sleek and it closes magnetically. I also like it has a mirror inside, which makes it perfect for travel. The magnetic palette comes in black and white.

Down below you can see the swatches of both collections. The swatches of the Skyward collection are on the left and on the right is the Landfall collection.

Skyward Collection:
  • Celestial - is a sheet white with green reflection and has pearlescent finish.
  • Mirage - is a mint green with metallic finish.
  • Surge - is a medium blue with matte finish.
  • Altitude - is a pastel periwinkle with matte finish.
  • Eden - is an ivy green with a matte finish.
  • Yonder - is a turquoise with matte finish.

Landfall Collection:
  • Decent - is a lavender with silver reflects and has a metallic finish.
  • Crossroads - is a lotus pink with matte finish.
  • Pilgrim - is an ivory with pink undertones and has a matte finish.
  • Midway - is a beige with neutral undertone and has matte finish.
  • Trespass - is a rich brown with maroon undertones and has a matte finish.
  • Terminus - is a raspberry with matte finish.

The lasting power of these eyeshadows is so good. These last on me all day with eyeshadow primer and and without a primer. These didn't crease on me or fade through out the day. The quality of these shadows is so good and I like it's European indie makeup brand.

I'm so happy with the new collections and I can't wait what Lethal Cosmetics comes out next. Their eyeshadows are amazing and you can check the collections here. I highly recommend these eyeshadows!

Review: Pixi Beauty Vitamin C Range

Hi loves, today I have for you skincare review on Pixi Beauty Vitamin C range. They where kind enough to send me their Vitamin-C Juice Cleanser (150 ml), Vitamin-C Tonic (100 ml), Vitamin-C Serum (30 ml), Vitamin-C Lotion (50 ml) and Vitamin-C Caviar Balm (45 ml). All my thoughts on their products is 100% my own. I have bought their products in the past with my own money. And some of the products I have repurchased like the Rose Cream Cleanser (link).

This range is infused with vitamin C and is perfect to brighten up the complexion. Let's start with the Vitamin-C Juice Cleanser, which is with orange flower water. It comes in a yellow see through bottle and has a pump, which makes using it so easy.

The cleanser contains ferulic acid and probiotics, which help to preserve and protect the skin. It can be applied over the face by hands or with cotton pad. I personally like to use a cotton pad to apply it and I use it in the mornings. I like I don't need to rinse it, which makes it so convenient to use on days when I'm in a rush.

After I have cleansed my skin with the Vitamin-C Juice cleanser I go in with the Vitamin-C Tonic, which smells like lemons. I love the range has a lovely citrus scent. The tonic comes in a yellow see through bottle and has a the same style of packaging then all the other products in their range. I love the mint green labels.

Vitamin C has potent antioxidants power and it promotes healthy collagen production. It also helps to brighten the skin. Probiotics in it help to fortify skin's barrier while willow bark and fruit extracts gently exfoliate. It's also alcohol free, which I like.

Next in the range is the Vitamin C Serum, which I use every morning. It comes in a mint green glass bottle and has a yellow label. It has a dropper and I use 3 drops, of serum (one on the forehead and one on both cheeks). This is brightening serum with vitamin C and ferulic acid. These help to reduce the effects of sun damage and free radicals. It helps to improve skin tone and the texture.

The serum itself is yellow and has a refreshing citrus scent to it, which I personally really like. It feels light weight on skin and it sinks into it fast. It does leave my skin bit tacky, but the feeling goes away after I have applied the day cream. So the tackiness doesn't bother me too much.

I have noticed my skin is brighter since I have started using this serum. I haven't noticed much more, because my skin is already in a really good shape. It makes getting a wow factor form skincare products harder. I do like the feel of it and how it makes my skin feel. I would definetly consider repurchasing it, because I love to have a vitamin C serum in my routine and this one has been effective one and it doesn't brake the bank.

I have been using as my day cream Vitamin-C Lotion, which is brightening moisturizer. It comes in a yellow squeeze tube packaging and has a mint green cap. It doesn't have any scent to it.

The lotion is infused with vitamin C, which is a great antioxidant and helps to promote healthy collagen production and is know to brighten the skin.

It's a light weight cream and sinks into the skin fast. It leaves my skin hydrated and soft. I like it's not too thick, so applying SPF would feel too much. It just feels right and by the way I have combo skin type. I forgot to mention it before. It has been excellent moisturizer for warmer months, but for winter I think I might need something more rich.

The last item I have from this range is the Vitamin-C Caviar Balm, which is leave on mask. It comes in a yellow squeeze tube and has a mint green cap. This mask is infused also with vitamin C, which helps to promote healthy collagen production.

The formula of the mask is thick and it takes some time to skin into the skin. I have been using it as my overnight mask, when I don't use peptide serum. I apply thick layer of it on the skin and yes it is sticky, but it's worth it, because my skin in the morning is so hydrated. It also looks brighter and feels softer.

I'm really happy with this balm. It works well as a treatment and I like I'm able to see the result the next morning. It doesn't say you have to use it in the evening, I just do it. I have more combo to oily skin, so in the mornings this mask would be too much for my skin and I would end up being oily mess.

I'm super immersed with this collection and last time their collection impressed me was the Rose one. I still love it and the Vitamin C one is amazing as well. I can see myself repurchasing most of the products from this range, except the cleanser. And the reason is that I own already too many cleansers. But it is convenient to use in the mornings.

Have you tried any of their Vitamin C products?

Review: BYS Cosmetics Crystal Collection

Hi loves, today I'm happy to share with you beautiful collection from BYS Cosmetics Crystal Collection. It was gifted to me by BYS Cosmetic Estonia. Thank you so much! All my thoughts on the collection are 100% on my own.

The collection contains Crystal 12 pan Eyeshadow Palette, 2 blushers in shade Crystal Pink and Rose Quarts, Diamond Highlighter in Energy, Amethyst Prep & Set Spray and Rose Quarts Hydrating Mist.

Let's start with the mists. First we have their Amethyst Prep & Set Mist (45ml, 6.50, link). It comes in a plastic bottle and has inside amethyst crystals, which make it look unique and beautiful. The amethyst crystals help to calm and balance the skin. It's perfect to use as makeup base and also as setting spray. It does help to make my makeup last well and the sprayer of it is surprisingly good for something that's less then 7 euros. It sprays out the setting spray evenly and it feels cooling and refreshing on the skin.

The Rose Quartz Hydrating Mist (45ml, €6.50, link) comes in a plastic bottle which has rose quartz crystals in it and comes with a sprayer, which sprays a fine mist. The rose quarts helps to boost energy and rejuvenate the skin. This mist is ideal anyone who want to get boost of hydration, specially this time of the year and it also helps to keep the makeup on longer.

Both sprays feel so light and refreshing and I can see myself repurchasing these. The price point is great and the crystals make it extra cute.

Let's move on the the eyeshadow palette and the Crystal Eyeshadow Palette (12,90, link comes in a gorgeous crystallized and holographic packaging. Inside it hosts a mirror, 2 applicators (which I tossed) and 12 eyeshadows: 3 high shine eyeshadows, 3 shimmery shades and 6 matte eyeshadows.

I love their palettes, which come in this tin type of packaging. These close securely, which makes these excellent to take with me when traveling. And it's the palette, which I took with me to Italy. The formula of the shadows is amazing and I specially like their mattes. The mattes feel so nice and buttery. They definetly keep up the quality I expect from their eyeshadows.

All of the shadows are pigmented and work well with other shadows. I did have issue with one of the shadows, which was a shimmer. All the mattes worked well and I ended up with beautiful eye looks. You can see some of the looks on my Instagram (link).

  • Quarts - is a matte white.
  • Black onyx - is a shimmery black silvery shade. It's the only shade I had issues with. It didn't want to apply as well as other shadows from the palette. I need to work harder with it to get desired effect.
  • Glassy - is one of my favorite shades in the palette. It's has bouncy formula and it reminds me of the colourpop super shock shadows. It feels like the base is blackened purple with tons of lilac glitter in it. It looks fantastic on the lid.
  • Moon Rocks - is a matte muted lilac.
  • Diamond - has also the bouncy formula and it's a light pink with pink glitter in it. It looks so beautiful!
  • Recharge - is a duochrome  with purple base and has a blue sheen to it. It super beautiful and one of my favorites from the palette.
  • Psychic - is a matte pinky brown nude. Perfect shade to warm up that crease.
  • Senses - is a matte nude pink, which makes a beautiful highlighting shade.
  • Sunstone - is a matte reddish burned orange. I have been loving this shade so much. Every time I use this palette I go to this shade.
  • Healing - is a matte cool tone brown. A classical shade in a palette and a must have.
  • Power Up - is a rose gold with shimmer finish. It's the perfect everyday shade for me. I love to wear it all over the lid.
  • Crystal Dust - is another bouncy shade. It's yellow with lot of glitter to it. I love to use it on top of Power Up.

The staying power of these shades is amazing. I didn't experience any creasing or fading through out the day. I always use primer under all my eye looks, just in case. Also these eyeshadows didn't irritate my eyes and I have very sensitive eyes.

As you can see I'm over the moon by this palette. It's so stunning and I love they have included so many different textures in this palette.

I always get excited when they come out with new blushes. This collection has 2 Blushers in shade Crystal Pink (link) and Rose Quartz (3g, € 3.90 link). Both blushes come in a rose gold packaging and has a clear lid, so I can see the shade, which I really like. I also like the imprint these blushes have. It matches well with the collection theme. Both shades have matte finish.

The formula of the blushers feels so silky to the touch and these are pigmented ones, so I do need to use light hand when I apply. I like these are easy to blend out even when I have applied bit too much product.
  • Crystal Pink - is a cool tone pink, which I find goes with any look. It has been my go to blush lately.
  • Rose Quartz - is a brighter coral blush. I see myself wearing it more on summer time. It does give the cheeks beautiful flush.

On the left you can see the swatches of the blushers. I do want to apologies about the glitter. I swatched the eyeshadows before and I totally forgot how glittery some of the shadows are and I couldn't get all of the glitters off. You can still see the blusher shades and how intense these are. And the staying power of these gemes is amazing. The color stayed on my cheeks all day without getting patchy or fading. Again I'm so impressed by the quality of these blushes.

The last item in this collection is the Diamond Highlighter in shade Energy (8g, 3.50, link). It comes in a clear compact and I can see the highlighter in full glory. In the pan it doesn't look so special, but on skin it's brilliant. It one of those wet looking highlighters and this has been my go to highlighter. It looks so nice on my pale skin tone.

This is so pigmented highlighter and I love how easily it blends into the skin. I also love the crystal imprint it has. It's inside and out beautiful highlighter. I also want to mention it lasted on me all day and I didn't feel I needed to touch it up. Such a stunning product. I feel like I can't say anything the picture doesn't say itself.

As you can see this is another stunning collection from BYS Cosmetics. They just keep amazing me with their new products. These are super stunning! I can't even pick favorite, because these are all.

Have you tried anything from their Crystal Collection?

Thank you for reading! xo's

Review: Catrice 1 Minute Face Perfector

Hi loves, I'm back! I was on long waited vacation. I had panned to make blog posts, but I forgot my camera cable at home, so I couldn't put any of the pictures and videos in my computer :( These pictures are done by phone, so I apologia for the quality. It's not the same as a camera.

Today's review is on Catrice 1 Minute Face Perfector (17g, €5.99) and it's in one shade 010 One Fits All. It comes in a glass jar and has a nude cap. The product itself has no scent to it, but I was worried when I saw the shade first time and you'll see why on the picture below.

The Face Perfector has a mousse kind of texture and they claim it adapts to the skin tone. It should be used as a primer. It claims it mattifies the skin and helps to blur pores and imperfections.

I have been using it over 2 weeks now and yes it does blend into the skin flawlessly and adapt to my skin tone. I like to use my finger tips to apply it, but you can use a brush. I was so worried I'll look orange, but it just becomes one with the skin. It did blur the pores and my foundation applied flawlessly on top of it. It also kept me matte longer like any primer would.

Down below you can see the swatch and the blended out version (on the right). You'll understand why I was so worried about the application part. As it came out there was nothing to worry about.

I'm so happy with this product and it shows sometimes risks in makeup world pay off. I feel Catrice Cosmetics has been delivering better and better products at least for me. I really like it and I find it's worth a try. I picked mine up from Kruidvat, if you are living in Netherlands too, you can find it here.

Which is your favorite product from Catrice?

Thank you for reading! xo's
