Review: La Mer The Soft Fluid Foundation + Loose Powder

Hi loves! I January I picked up La Mer The Soft Fluid Foundation in shade 02 Ivory (30ml, 100.50€) and their Loose Powder in Translucent (8g, 77.00€). And now I'm ready to share my thoughts on these gems. Both of these contains Miracle Broth, which La Mer is known for. It shoots, hydrates and repairs the look of skin.

Their foundation comes in a frosted glass bottle and it has a pump. The bottle is heavier then other this type of foundations and feels very luxurious. Its available in 15 shades and its doesn't run deeper then Tan, which looks off pictures like deeper medium shade. Their shade range doesn't cover everyone.

Its formula is long lasting, hides pores and contains SPF20. Its more thicker foundation then some others in my collection, but not as thick as whipped foundations. It blend into the skins seamlessly and gives my skin healthy glow. It does last well on my skin (I have oily skin), if I use right primer. If I use more hydrating makeup base I end up oily mess and the foundation doesn't last on me as long. I do get oily with it through out the day and definetly need to powder. I don't mind it, because everything else applies so well on top of it, specially other cream products and nothing moves around through out the day or get patchy.

I have worn this foundation today for 9 hours and I have powdered only once and the coverage is still as good as in the morning. No imperfections peek out!

I do wanna mention this foundation does contain fragrance and there is a slight scent to it, which is not over powering and I wouldn't have noticed it at all, if haven't specially sniffed at it. So it might not work for beauties with very sensitive skin. I personally haven't had any issues with it, my skin loves it. You can find full list of ingredient here. It does contain silicons, if you where wondering like Cyclopentasiloxane and Dimethicone.

Their powder is one of the most expensive powders I have ever used. Its finely milled and perfect to set the foundation. It leaves my skin velvety smooth. I do need to reapply it through out the day, because of my oily skin. It happens with every powder I have used.

The powder comes in a frosted glass jar, which looks similar to the foundation packaging. Its heavy, which doesn't make it ideal for traveling.

As the foundation it does have a slight scent to it, but I didn't found in the ingredients list parfum. Again its not a strong scent and I can hardly noticed it. What I did notice when checking out the ingredients is that it contains talc. This is not an ingredient I wanna see when I pay 77 euros for it. Because of that I will not repurchase it and go with another powder, which I already own and know I will be repurchasing.

Down below you can see the demo part of this post and I filmed it before I checked the ingredients list. In there I'm more taken with the powder. I just can't get over that it contains talc!

I like the foundations and I think I would repurchase it even though it costs arm and a leg. I just like how it makes my skin look. You can find it here, if you wanna check it out. I'm not even going to link the powder, because you can do better ;)

Whats your favorite winter foundation?

Thank you for reading! xo's

  7. What? Talc? From La Mer. That is pretty disappointing. I don't usually come across reviews on their make up line (honestly, I didn't realise they went that far!) only skincare and it's always rave reviews.
