Review: theBalm What's The Tea? Palettes

Hi loves! Today's post is on 2 theBalm palettes, which was gifted to me by theBalm Estonia. Thank you so much for this wonderful gift. The palettes are What's The Tea? Ice Tea Eyeshadow Palette (33.99€) and What's The Tea? Hot Tea Eyeshadow Palette (33.99€).

Both palettes are sleek and come in cardboard packaging. These close magnetically and inside there is mirror, 2 eyeshadow primers (black and neutral) and 9 eyeshadows: 4 mattes and 5 shimmer/metallic.

Lets first talk about the What's The Tea? Hot Tea Eyeshadow Palette, which contains war tone eyeshadows. I really like the theme of the palette and the packaging as always is so beautiful and cute. I do like theBalm style.

The eyeshadows are beautiful and bit different then they other palettes in my collection. I found the shadows to be more soft and I did get fall out because of it. It's not a deal breaker for me, because I do my eyes first anyway.

I have been playing with this palette 2 weeks now and I do like it. There is one eyeshadow I have issues with, but all the others are perfection. These blend so beautifully and work well with other eyeshadows. I have used this palette with the primers that came in it and the ones I own. The staying power is the same, no creasing through out the day or fading.

Down below you can see the swatches for yourselves and you can also see what the black primer does. If you have this palette and want to use it (the black eyeshadow primer) make sure you blend it out really well and its even, if it's not even it will show when you apply the shadow on top of it.

On the picture the left I swatched the eyeshadow Spill the Tea on the black primer and on it own. The color changes so much, specially with the lighter colors. I really like the effect it has.

  • Hey Girl Hey! - is a beautiful matte brown red. It's the perfect shade to wear on autumn.
  • Ooh La La - is a medium tone brown with matte finish. It's the perfect shade to warm up the crease.
  • Spill the Tea - is a metallic white with golden sheen. It's the prettiest inner corner of the eye highlighter.
  • Word on the Street - is beautiful matte pink. One of my favorites in the palette.
  • On the Down Low - is a metallic bronze shade.
  • Tell-All - is a metallic duo chrome with green sheen.
  • Receipts - is a peachy shade with satin finish.
  • Drama Queen - is a shimmery bronzy brown.
  • Scandalous - is a matte dark chocolate brown. It's the shadow I have problems with. I have difficulties working with it.

Overall I'm very happy and impressed with the new Hot Tea Palette. It's perfect for anyone who loves warm nude eyeshadows and needs a new palette for autumn. If you are interested you can find it here.

Now let's look at the other palette, which is their What's The Tea? Ice Tea Eyeshadow Palette. This palette is perfect for anyone who loves cool tone eyeshadows. In autumn I like to wear mix of cool and warm tone eyeshadows. Coming back to this palette, I can say I like every single eyeshadow in it. I love they have included basic nude shadows and some green shades as well. I love greens and both are so beautiful and perfect for this time of the year (and yes, I'm in autumn already).

I didn't have any issues bending these out and I used these together with other eyeshadows in my collection. Only thing is the fall out. Like I said before, it's not an issue for me because I do my eye makeup first anyway. I feel all the shadows in the palette harmoniously goes together and I can mix and match which ever way I want.

On the left you can see all the eyeshadows in this palette swatched. I didn't use any primer or anything under the swatches.

  • Kiss and Tell - is a metallic white with lilac sheen to it.
  • The Buzz - is a metallic emerald green, so beautiful shade.
  • Talk of the Town - is a matte dark emerald green.
  • Rumor Has It - is a metallic cool tone bronze.
  • The 411 - is a metallic rosy lilac shade. It's one of my favorites, so pretty.
  • He Said She Said - is a metallic pale lilac shade. It's another stunning shade.
  • Oh Snap  - is a matte cool tone brown. Great to use in the crease.
  • The Run Down - is a matte mauve shade. It's the perfect autumn shade.
  • Latest Scoop - is a matte gray brown.

As you can see all the eyeshadows in this palette look absolutely stunning and perfect for autumn or any occasion. I have been missing cool tones. I didn't know till I got this palette. If you are interested in it you can find the palette here.

As you can see I'm happy with both palettes. These took me back to nude looks and I have to say I have missed it. I always wear color, but it's nice sometimes to wear just nude eye look. Down below you can see a demo part of this review. I hope you guys like it :)

Will you pick theBalm new palettes?

Thank you for reading! xo's
